Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd said the decision is a “long play” for Bryce James, who has yet to play for the No. 1-ranked Wildcats.

“I have strong beliefs that Bryce will be a contributor at Arizona in the near future,” Lloyd said in an interview with the Big 12 Network. “He’s really shown a lot of progress, not only learning our system, but just physically maturing.”

James is a 6-foot-5-inch guard. He is the younger brother of Bronny James, who plays on the Lakers with their father.

The Wildcats (22-0) welcomed a freshman class that includes two players — Koa Peat and Brayden Burries — who are appearing in NBA mock drafts.
