81-year-old man dies after reportedly falling out of kayak in Salt River, another family rescued

MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A person is lifeless after reportedly falling out of his kayak within the Salt River on Saturday morning. Shortly after, one other household wanted to be rescued when their kayak capsized.

Round 11:45 a.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputies had been referred to as to the Pebble Seashore space of the Salt River for a reported drowning. MCSO says an 81-year-old man had fallen out of his kayak and didn’t resurface. Different kayakers on the Salt River pulled the person out and administered first support. Lake Patrol deputies arrived and took over first support; nevertheless, the person died on the scene. He has not been recognized. MCSO Lake Patrol detectives are persevering with to analyze this incident.

Roughly 20 minutes later, a household kayaking within the Salt River wanted to be rescued by emergency crews after their kayak capsized within the Phon D Sutton space of the river, inflicting them to separate within the water. MCSO says the family members stayed afloat by holding onto some bushes and timber. MCSO and Lake Patrol Deputies did a swift water rescue to airlift all members of the family to security. No accidents had been reported.
