4 lightning-caused wildfires burning in Tonto National Forest

Four wildfires were burning throughout the Tonto National Forest, all reportedly caused by lightning.

Here are the latest details.

Cane Fire

The Cane Fire has burned approximately 50 acres as of Saturday in the wilderness in the Cave Creek Ranger District. An overhead flight was administered to assess fire activity and officials continued to gauge conditions.

Davenport Fire

As of Saturday, the Davenport Fire has burned approximately 75 to 100 acres in the wilderness also in the Cave Creek Ranger District. A flight was conducted to assess fire activity and officials continued to evaluate the conditions.

Deer Fire

The Deer Fire is also burning in the wilderness in the Cave Creek Ranger District, and as of Saturday has burned approximately 100 acres. A flight was conducted to assess fire activity and officials continued to check the conditions of the fire.

Soldier Fire

The Soldier Fire started on Friday and is located on Pleasant Valley Road about four miles east of Gisela. The fire is estimated to have burned 20 acres. A flight was conducted Saturday to assess the fire. As of right now, there were no threats to communities or values.
