Stranded on an Alaskan Highway, a Stranger Saves the Day

Being stranded in the midst of nowhere, Alaska was not what Vanessa Foster imagined when she determined to depart behind her life in Texas. However that is precisely the place she discovered herself one chilly night in 1985.

She and her then-husband had simply hopped on a flight to Alaska with out a lot of a plan. After they landed, they used the final of their cash to purchase an previous truck and began driving throughout the state. Foster was starting to really feel like her world was spiraling uncontrolled.

“I had nothing left on the earth. Nothing,” she stated.

A short time into their drive, they noticed a hitchhiker on the facet of the highway, and her husband determined to provide him a journey. The stranger climbed into the cab of the truck, they usually continued to drive. After a number of hours, they pulled over at a relaxation cease.

After a time on the ranch as a prepare dinner, Foster divorced her husband and began a brand new life. The expertise impacted her to such a level that she wrote about it in a e-book titled Extra Than Every little thing. Wanting again on that point in her life, all these years later, she says she’ll always remember that man with the intense blue eyes.
