A woman walking across Benson Boulevard in Anchorage’s Spenard neighborhood was struck and killed in a collision with an SUV on Saturday, police said.

Anchorage police responded at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday to a collision near the intersection of Minnesota Drive and Benson Boulevard, police said. A preliminary assessment indicated that the woman was walking across Benson not in a crosswalk when a man driving a Dodge SUV eastbound struck her, police said.
