ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The newly appointed Norwegian Ambassador to the U.S. came to Alaska to present a medal to Anchorage resident and Norwegian Honorary Consul for Alaska, Lise Kristiansen, on Thursday evening.

Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt presented a medal for “Officer, Knight First Grade of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit,” to the East Anchorage High alumna.

Kristiansen hosted the King of Norway nearly ten years ago in 2015 when King Harald visited the state. At the time, Kristiansen was President and CEO of the Alaska World Affairs Council.

Kristiansen, who was born and raised in Alaska, is both a U.S. and a Norwegian Citizen.
