New fire just north of Anderson Complex

A pilot flying to the Anderson Complex reported a new fire start north of the Teklanika River Fire Wednesday afternoon. The Pilot Spot Fire (#325) is burning in mixed hardwoods and spruce and was last reported to be 1 acre. The fire is about three miles north of the Nenana River as it runs along the north side of the Teklanika River Fire, and 2.5 miles southeast from the confluence of the Tek and Nenana. Incident Management Team Great Basin 3, who is managing the fires in the Anderson Complex, initiated an initial response to the new start. 

More information on the Pilot Spot Fire will be posted Thursday morning with the Anderson Complex update.
