Diesel spill of 18,000 gallons at Alaska tank farm contained -local media
Aug 12 (Reuters) – A spill of about 18,000 gallons (81,830 liters) of diesel gasoline at a tank farm in Level Lay in Alaska has been contained, a neighborhood media reportsaid on Thursday.
The spill, which occurred on Wednesday morning was seemingly brought on by a failed valve in a pump, the report mentioned.
The Alaska Division of Environmental Conservation didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark from Reuters.
The tank farm, related to the North Slope Borough’s Public Works Division, shops and dispenses gasoline oil for energy era, dwelling and facility heating and tools operation, in addition to diesel and gasoline to retail customers, the report mentioned.
