Army identifies soldier who died after Alaska bear attack
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The U.S. Military on Thursday recognized the soldier who died this week of accidents sustained throughout a bear assault in a navy coaching space in Alaska.
The Military in an announcement stated Employees Sgt. Seth Michael Plant, 30, was pronounced useless at a hospital on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage following the mauling Tuesday. One other soldier obtained minor accidents within the assault in a coaching space west of the Anchorage landfill, in keeping with the Military.
Plant was from Saint Augustine, Florida, and had been at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson since July 2021, the Military stated in an announcement. He was an infantryman from the third Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
Lt. Col. David J. Nelson, third Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment commander, stated Plant “all the time had a smile on his face, he all the time went above and past what was requested of him, and he served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege to know him.”
The Military says the mauling is being investigated and that extra data will likely be introduced because it turns into accessible.
