Alaska Air Cargo selects Boeing for 2 P2F conversions

Alaska Air Cargo introduced Boeing will present the conversion work for 2 737-800 Boeing Transformed Freighters (BCF) so as to add to its devoted freighter fleet serving the state of Alaska.

“The conversion work can be finished at Cooperativa Autogestionaria de Servicios Aeroindustriales (COOPESA) in Costa Rica. The 2 737-800BCF plane will enhance the Alaska Air Cargo freighter fleet from three to 5 plane which are devoted to serving the state of Alaska,” says a launch from Alaska Airways.

“Fleet growth positions our rising cargo enterprise to fulfill elevated demand that we see from business and customers,” says Adam Drouhard, managing director, Alaska Air Cargo. “The 737-800 plane offers 40 % extra load house than our present 737-700 freighters, basically doubling Air Cargo’s whole freighter carry capability. We look ahead to getting these 737-800s into service to help Alaska’s provide chain and join cargo to over 100 cities we serve throughout North America.”

The 2 737-800 airplanes will come from Alaska Airways’ current passenger fleet and can be leased from BBAM, an business chief in plane leasing and freighter conversions. “The planes can be transformed from their passenger configuration to an all-freight plane starting in 2023 with completion of the ultimate plane by early 2024.”

The 737-800 offers a payload of practically 50,000 kilos. With a variety of two,800 nautical miles, the 737-800 would be the most fuel-efficient plane to serve intra-Alaska, the discharge added.
