Worker crushed to death by forklift in Los Angeles

A worker died when he was crushed by a forklift in Los Angeles’ Bel Air neighborhood on Monday, officials said.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at a construction site between homes in the 900 block of North Moraga Drive, where L.A. city firefighters responded to reports of a person trapped under a forklift carrying steel rebar.

Crews determined the man was “beyond medical help” and had succumbed to his injuries, LAFD said.

Sky5 aerial footage showed firefighters attempting to secure and stabilize the scene to assist the Medical Examiner in recovering the worker’s body.

No other injuries were reported.

The worker’s identity was not immediately released.
