Train hits, kills person in Los Angeles
A person died after they were hit by a train in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights, authorities confirmed Sunday.
The collision was reported at about 2 p.m. in the area of 3200 E Union Pacific Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Authorities said it was a Union Pacific train that fatally struck a pedestrian.
The identity of the person killed was not immediately made available. No other injuries were reported.
All rail tracks in the immediate vicinity will be closed for an unknown amount of time.
