‘They appeared to be having a party while doing it’: Redlands Theatre Festival reeling after being struck by vandals
Late Friday evening, vandals broken the props and units of the Redlands Theatre Competition in Prospect Park, the competition’s supporters say.
Members had simply celebrated their fiftieth anniversary hours earlier than the destruction.
Candice Stewart, inventive director of the competition, surveyed the injury.
“That was fully smashed in. Doorways have been all gone. The worst half, they seemed to be having a celebration whereas doing it. There was confetti, social gathering poppers, blissful birthday taggings,” she stated.
“That is undoubtedly the primary time somebody has maliciously attacked the theater for no clear purpose,” added Robert Conrad, firm sound designer.
Redlands residents have come out to attempt to restore the injury and save the theatre’s season. In the meantime, the Redlands Police Division is investigating.
“Theatre individuals don’t get knocked down very fast. You come again and do the work… That’s what you gotta do,” stated Redlands resident Lee Fischer.
