A 15-year-old in San Bernardino County was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen vehicle over the weekend, authorities announced on Monday.

The chase unfolded at around 1: 20 p.m. when San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputy A. Puga spotted a 2016 Hyundai Accent at the intersection of Mojave Drive and Amargosa Road that had been reported stolen out of Victorville, according to an SBSD news release.

When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the juvenile driver failed to yield and lead authorities on a high-speed chase through several residential streets.

The 15-year-old eventually pulled the vehicle into the Pebble Beach Apartment complex where two additional juvenile passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies were quickly able to apprehend the teen driver and the two other juveniles who tried to escape within the apartment complex.

Authorities said the 15-year-old behind the wheel was booked at Apple Valley Juvenile Hall for possession of a stolen vehicle.
