Southern California man busted with arsenal of firearms, ammo and explosives

A routine traffic stop by deputies in Riverside County resulted in the recovery of an arsenal of weapons, ammunition, explosive target material and drugs, authorities announced earlier this week.  

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies stopped 30-year-old Christian Ray Snowden just after 11 p.m. Mar. 10 near the intersection of Ramona Expressway and State Street in San Jacinto, according to a news release from the department.  

After learning that Snowden had several outstanding arrest warrants, deputies found that he was in possession of methamphetamine. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed eight firearms, a suppressor, high-capacity magazines, ammunition and 5 pounds of explosive target material.

A search warrant was later executed at the 30-year-old’s residence in the 1400 block of Calle San Sebastian where additional ammunition and another 20 pounds of explosive target material.

Snowden was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility on narcotics and weapon-related charges.

Authorities did not provide any information about what the outstanding arrest warrants were for, nor did they say why the 30-year-old was pulled over.
