Racing drivers caused semi-truck to smash into guardrail: CHP
A part of the 215 Freeway in Riverside was briefly shut down overnight due to a collision involving racing drivers, authorities said.
A CHP spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the crash happened on the northbound span of the 215 at University Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
Three total vehicles — two cars and a semi-truck — were involved in the crash, CHP said.
“A white Dodge was racing another vehicle when it crashed [and] caused the semi to roll over and hit the guardrail,” the CHP spokesperson said.
Each party involved in the collision was evaluated for minor injuries.
It is not known if drugs or alcohol played a factor in crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
