Passenger-packed Southern California thrill ride gets stuck mid-air
More than a dozen passengers had to be rescued when an amusement park ride got stuck in mid-air in Ventura County over the weekend.
911 calls began flooding into the Ventura County Fire Department when the ride at Conejo Creek Park South got stuck around 8 p.m. Sunday.
“Firefighters responded to a technical rescue at the Conejo Creek Park as approximately 18 people were trapped on an amusement park ride,” the Fire Department stated in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The Fire Department posted an image of the ride, which places passengers inside a spinning enclosed compartment.
All of the riders were rescued within 30 minutes of the first 911 calls, according to the Fire Department.
There were no injuries reported.
Conejo Creek Park South hosts the Conejo Valley Days festival, which runs June 20 through June 30.
