Several motorists stranded on a flooded road in Tarzana had to be rescued Sunday evening, authorities announced.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 19000 block of West Oxnard Street, near the intersection of Donna Avenue where they found at least two vehicles trapped in 2-3 feet of water that needed to be pulled to safety.

“Thankfully, the vehicle occupants have remained in their vehicles and not risked going out into the deep water with unpredictable terrain and currents below the surface,” LAFD said in a news release.

Video of the incident shows one vehicle being towed out of the flood water by a large tow truck, while LAFD crews work to help a woman in a Mercedes Benz get clear of the flood waters, eventually pushing her and her vehicle to dryer ground.

No injuries were reported during the traffic-related water rescue.

Fire officials did add that Oxnard Street will be closed between Wilbur and Tampa avenues due to the flooding. Drivers were encouraged to seek alternate routes and not attempt to cross flooded roadways.
