A man suspected of DUI was arrested following a crash that left a motorcyclist dead in Orange County Wednesday night.

Police responded around 9:45 p.m. when the motorcyclist heading northbound on Gilbert Street was struck by a motorist traveling eastbound on Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton.

The driver continued dragging the motorcycle underneath the vehicle for several hundred feet before being stopped by a good Samaritan, a Fullerton Police Department spokesperson confirmed.

The unidentified motorcyclist was knocked off the bike at the intersection and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, who was seen on video stumbling during a field sobriety test, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Hours later, a police cruiser involved in the investigation was struck by a motorist in a Tesla.
