Man shot dead in South Bay liquor store parking lot

Homicide investigators were called to a parking lot in Hawthorne Monday night after a man was gunned down and left to die.

The shooting was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. near Crenshaw Boulevard and El Segundo Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

An unidentified man was found with at least one gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

Video showed police tape blocking the Crenshaw Village parking lot as authorities investigated the fatality.

Evidence markers were placed in the parking lot near what appeared to be multiple bullet casings.

The front door of South Liquor Bank was also partially shattered from what appeared to be a bullet hole.

Investigators have not released any information regarding a suspect or a motive for the shooting.
