1 person found dead after Koreatown fire: LAFD
Firefighters found a physique after extinguishing a fireplace in Koreatown on Thursday, the Los Angeles Fireplace Division mentioned in an alert.
The fireplace was reported at 3:18 p.m. on the second story of a five-story workplace constructing at 611 S. Catalina St., the LAFD mentioned.
The deceased, whose age and gender are unknown, was situated “behind particles and file cupboards” after the hearth had been extinguished, in accordance with the LAFD.
“Extreme storage inside the workplace items pressured a delay in conducting a full search till the hearth was extinguished,” the division added.
In a later press launch, the division added that the greater than 90 firefighters on scene needed to “breach by way of a number of inside partitions to achieve and get water on the hearth” which finally restricted the hearth to 2 items of the constructing and saved the remainder of the construction.
“LAFD Arson, at the side of the Los Angeles Police Division, are investigating the reason for the hearth per protocol for a fatality,” the division added.
