Tiger mauls Florida man at airboat attraction, authorities say

A tiger mauled a Florida employee Tuesday afternoon at an airboat attraction, in keeping with authorities. 

In a Fb publish detailing the incident, Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk wrote that his workplace was “having a tough time comprehending” the assault.

The sheriff’s deputies reportedly responded to a tiger assault at Wooten’s Airboats at 32300 Tamiami Path East, Ochopee within the Everglades space at roughly 4:30 p.m. ET. 

“Preliminary (very) information signifies a tiger in an enclosure at that location was being fed by its caretaker when a 50-year-old male, an worker of Wooten’s who was not licensed to be with the tiger, entered the tiger’s enclosure,” Rambosk defined. The tiger attacked the person and triggered accidents to each arms. The person has been transported to a hospital by EMS.”

The tiger was not injured and its caretaker was in a position to safely include the animal. 

Officers didn’t instantly disclose the person’s situation. 

In accordance with the Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Excursions web site, the attraction contains an animal sanctuary that options two tigers, two lions, otters, turtles, crocodiles and alligators.

In late December, a custodial employee was mauled by a tiger at Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens after getting into an unauthorized space. 

A Collier County deputy shot 8-year-old Eko as his jaws had been wrapped across the man’s arm.

In accordance with The Naples Day by day Information, the sheriff’s workplace introduced in February that the person – recognized as 26-year-old River Rosenquist – wouldn’t face prison expenses within the loss of life of the endangered Malayan tiger. 

“After an intensive investigation of the incident and after consulting consultants in state and federal prison regulation and the prosecution of similar, it has been concluded that there are not any relevant present legal guidelines with which to cost Mr. River Rosenquist for his irresponsible acts that finally triggered the loss of life of Eko the tiger,” the sheriff’s workplace wrote in a Feb. 4 Fb publish. “Merely put, there are not any legal guidelines on the books that apply to this reckless act. We all know this might be very troublesome for everybody to grasp. It’s troublesome for us to grasp.”

Rambosk stated then that he was “pissed off and even angered” that there was no present prison regulation that utilized to the “tragic state of affairs.”
