Three-star cornerback Terrance “Deuce” Edwards verbally committed to West Virginia on Saturday. Edwards chose the Mountaineers over Virginia Tech and Michigan State. “I’m going to West Virginia University because when I’m there, it just feels like I belong,” Edwards told Rivals.com. “It gives me that home feel and is a place I can grow and develop on and off the field. I knew it was the place for me after my official visit.” Edwards, who attends Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Va., is rated as the No. 14 player in the state of Virginia. Edwards visited Morgantown two weekends ago and took a trip to Virginia Tech last weekend. He is no longer taking his planned trip to Michigan State. –Field Level Media

DAVIS, W.Va. (WDTV) – Student government representatives from many of West Virginia’s colleges and universities gathered for a three-day conference at Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center.
The 18th annual West Virginia Student Leadership Conference serves as a training event for student government representatives, many of whom are newly elected to their roles, officials said.
During the conference, students learn leadership skills, network with other student body leaders and higher education administrators and share ideas for engaging their campus communities.
The three-day conference was filled with dynamic sessions, workshops and round table discussions. Students discussed a variety of topics, including the role of student government, how to engage with local, state and federal officials, increasing community involvement and providing student support systems, officials said. Students were also able to socialize and trade ideas with peers from other colleges, as well as engage with state and college officials.
“This conference has provided me with opportunities to learn how to be a better leader through collaboration with other amazing leaders from schools across the state,” Sydney Barbour student government leader from Marshall University said. “I look forward to using this experience to strengthen my skills within leadership position at my own school.”
The WVSLC is cosponsored by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the West Virginia Community and Technical College System with Shepherd University assisting with coordination of the event.

Top 2025 West Virginia defensive line target Nic Moore was slated to make his decision earlier this week, but postponed it hours before his scheduled announcement. The Mountaineers felt good about their chances heading into that evening, especially since he had not taken his official visit to Tennessee.
After reconsidering and talking it over with his family, Moore delayed the decision and will now take that official to Tenneessee this weekend. It’s a three-team race with Vanderbilt also in the mix.
West Virginia has already secured commitments from Taylor Brown and Romando Johnson, each of whom have the flexibility to play on the edge. Moore is an anchor on the inside at the nose.
Moore took an official visit to West Virginia earlier this month and told Mountaineers Now, “I think it’s a place I can see myself at because of the brotherhood and unity in the goal of winning football games. That’s something that I want to be a part of no matter what. That is a non-negotiable.
“The interaction was amazing. There was a lot of jokes told and a lot of laughs during the visit. There wasn’t anything too surprising to me during the visit except for the bond that everyone had with each other.”
A new decision date has not been established.
