WV botanic garden receives grant to help fund education programs

Morgantown, W.Va (WDTV) –

The West Virginia botanic garden received a thirty-eight thousand dollar grant from the Equitrans midstream foundation to help fund their education programs.

This grant will help cover the cost of staff and help ensure that can continue offering their educational programs to the community.

Executive director Philip smith said this funding will also assist kids in the area.

“With our school programing we have about fifteen hundred students that visit the garden every year with school fieldtrips. We do target our scholarships for schools that have forty percent or more of their students qualify for free or reduce lunch.”

Along with their education programs they also have many gardens, artworks, and trails that they throughout the year.
