West Virginia State Senator Boley honored for 39 years in the legislature
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WTAP) – West Virginia State Senator Donna Boley was honored for her service to the West Virginia Legislature on Thursday.
Senator Boley was recognized for her 39 years of service to the state. She has served in the state senate longer than any other person.
Boley is a Republican who represents Pleasants County. She was at one time the only Republican in the state senate until Republicans gained a foothold in the state.
“At one time, I was the only Republican in the West Virginia State Senate. That was ‘91 and ‘92. And then I’ve been the only woman for several different years,” said Sen. Boley.
Her career began in 1985 and she says she thinks she can serve another four years.
