West Virginia crew heads west to help with wildfires
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia Division of Forestry crew has returned to the state after about three weeks serving to include fires in northern California.
The company mentioned the crew included 11 division staff and 9 educated for wildfire suppression. They left Aug. 11 and returned Thursday.
The crew helped round Willows, California, within the Mendocino Nationwide Forest and responded to the Kennedy Hearth, which was attributable to an vehicle accident, the division mentioned. The crew was reassigned to the Six Rivers Lightning Complicated close to Willow Creek.
Others from the division have been assigned to the 4 Corners Hearth on the Payette Nationwide Forest in Idaho, and one forester is a dispatcher in Grangeville, Idaho, the division mentioned.
