W.Va. baker of Halle Berry’s birthday cake shares story
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Last week, a famous face celebrated her birthday in West Virginia.
Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry celebrated her 58th birthday by visiting Piedmont Elementary alongside U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., last Wednesday — joining the senator for her West Virginia Girls Rise Up program.
Senator Capito returned the favor by gifting Berry a birthday cake created by Rock City Cake Company.
The sugar-free, low-carb, keto cake was one of the craziest run-ins baker Morgan Morrison says she’s had in her career.
“I mean, it was about as healthy as you can get for a cake, and it turned out great,” Morrison said. “Then, we had the opportunity to take it to Piedmont and meet her. She was just so sweet and so humble. It was a really cool experience.”
Morrison went on to share some wisdom, saying, “cake gets you a seat at every table.”
