Ohio man sentenced in West Virginia for sex offense against a minor

Makel Elboghdady, 37, an Egyptian nationwide residing in Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced not too long ago to 10 years in jail for touring in interstate commerce to interact in illicit sexual exercise with a minor.

Elboghdady was additionally ordered to serve 20 years on supervised launch after finishing his jail sentence.

Elboghdady was beforehand convicted after a jury trial in Could 2021.

Proof at trial revealed that Elboghdady traveled on Feb. 28, 2020 from Columbus, Ohio to Huntington, W.Va. to satisfy a lady so as to have interaction in sexual exercise together with her purported minor daughters. Elboghdady believed the women have been 11 and 13 years previous. When he arrived in Huntington and met with the individual he believed to be the mom of the women, Elboghdady was positioned below arrest.
