I-79 tractor-trailer crash in Harrison County snarls traffic, under investigation – WV MetroNews

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. – Multiple agencies are playing a role in reopening I-79 northbound following a tractor-trailer accident Tuesday afternoon.

Harrison County 911 officials said the initial report was dispatched at 4:31 p.m. that resulted in the closure of both northbound lanes from mile marker 109 to mile marker 105.

Northbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate at exit 105 to U.S. 19.

At 8:40 p.m. Officials said the DOH remained on scene and both lanes remained closed with no estimated time to reopen.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. Fire departments from Lost Creek, Stonewood and Jane Lew fire assisted along with the West Virginia Department of Highways. Lewis County EMS also responded.
