practice derailed in West Virginia early Wednesday. The empty coal practice struck a rockslide in Sandstone, W. Va, at 4:51 a.m., inflicting it to derail, CSX stated, in a press release. “Preliminary data signifies that every one 4 of the practice’s locomotives and 9 empty coal automobiles derailed,” the corporate added, noting that the lead locomotive had three crew members on board. “The locomotive caught hearth, however all three crew members are protected and being evaluated and handled for non-life threatening accidents,” the corporate stated. An unknown amount of diesel gas and oil spilled from the derailed locomotives, in line with CSX, which says that environmental measures will probably be deployed within the New River for containment. There have been no hazardous supplies being transported by this practice and the incident posed no hazard to the general public, the corporate added. Prepare derailments are within the highlight in the mean time following final month’s derailment of a Norfolk Southern Corp.
