BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) – All northbound traffic has been shut down for part of the West Virginia Turnpike, the West Virginia Department of Transportation announced.

According to the Department of Transportation, northbound lanes are shut down at mile marker 34 south of the Interstate 64 interchange.

The lanes are closed because of an accident involving several tractor-trailers, and the northbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours so the roadway can be cleared.

This is a developing story, and WVVA will share updates once they become available.
