MASON, W.Va. — An Ohio man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for killing a man in West Virginia.
Bobby Wolford, 33, of Cleveland, Oh., was sentenced to life in prison without mercy for first degree murder during a hearing Monday in Mason County Circuit Court.
Wolford was also sentenced to 1-5 years for a charge of concealment of a deceased human body, and 1-5 years for conspiracy. The sentences will be served consecutively.
Wolford was found guilty of all charges earlier this month in connection with the March 2022 death of John Gomez, 30, of Middleport, Oh. Gomez’s body was found by a UPS worker along the 600 block of Carson Road near Mason.
A grand jury indicted Wolford and Rikki Parsons-Wise, 25, of Racine, Oh., in January on charges of murder, robbery, conspiracy and concealment of a dead body.
An autopsy revealed Gomez died from a “non-contact, single gunshot wound.”
