Breaking: West Virginia Lands Top Transfer Guard Treysen Eaglestaff
The Eagle is on his way to Morgantown in the form of Treysen Eaglestaff committing to West Virginia.
Eaglestaff’s agent confirmed his client’s commitment to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 on Sunday.
Eaglestaff now gives Ross Hodge his top transfer recruit in his first offseason as WVU’s head coach. To further emphasize the magnitude of landing Eaglestaff, he picked the Mountaineers over BYU, Gonzaga and Washington.
Eaglestaff initially committed to transfer to South Carolina on March 30, but then quickly decided to re-open his recruitment. Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan and UCLA also showed interest in Eaglestaff.
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard averaged 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists this year North Dakota during the 2024-25 season. In fact, he scored over 1,300 total points and made 221 three-pointers throughout his three-year career at North Dakota.
Eaglestaff owns a career shooting percentage of 41.6% from the field and 37.1% from three.
