Allowing beer sales at non-school events at Laidley Field proposed by KCS
The Kanawha County Schools Board of Education in Charleston, West Virginia is considering a policy change to allow beer sales at the University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field for non-KCS-sanctioned events. At a BOE meeting on Feb. 19, 2026, the Board of Education heard a first reading of the amendment to KCS’ existing policy, established in 1986, which only allows for “non-intoxicating” beer sales at non-KCS-sanctioned events at Laidley Field.
