MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Another future Mountaineer has verbally committed to the 2025 signing class.

Three-star cornerback prospect Serious Stinyard announced his commitment to West Virginia Tuesday night via social media.

Stinyard, a native of Tampa, Florida, is the 15th member of WVU’s 2025 recruiting class. He is the fourth high school player from the Sunshine State to verbally commit to the Mountaineers and follows in the footsteps of fellow Florida native Sammy Etienne, who announced his decision Monday.

Stinyard has a three-star rating from all major recruiting services. The Gaither High School product is a top-100 player in the state of Florida.

The rising high school senior recently visited Minnesota and Kansas State’s campuses. He made his official visit to WVU in early June. Chad Scott and ShaDon Brown are believed to be the two main recruiters of Stinyard from West Virginia’s side of things.

247Sports lists him as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. As a high school junior last fall, Stinyard tallied three interceptions and five pass breakups.

Stinyard is the seventh defensive player in WVU’s 2025 recruiting class. Among those seven players, five are defensive backs.
