Water taxi, boat collide on the Potomac River
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Crews with DC Fire and EMS were on the Potomac River on Saturday afternoon to rescue people from a boat that took on water.
In a post made on X at 3:12 p.m., officials said the incident happened near the 14th Street bridge. A 24-foot pleasure craft and water taxi were involved in a collision there.
The water taxi was not damaged, but the pleasure craft took on water and was waiting for a tow boat after crews helped dewater it.
Two people were on the boat, while 40 people were in the taxi.
One person from the boat was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
