Spirit To Celebrate First Washington Spirit Day With Community Cleanup » Washington Spirit

Washington, D.C. (11/18/2022) – The Washington Spirit and Division of Power & Atmosphere (DOEE) will have a good time the primary anniversary of the Spirit’s 2021 NWSL championship win on Sunday, November 20 with a group cleanup occasion within the District.

Going down at Kingman and Heritage Islands on the Anacostia River, Spirit participant and Sustainable DC Ambassador Anna Heilferty will lead her Spirit teammates, membership workers and volunteers from Mayor Bowser’s workplace together with any followers who join the occasion in eradicating waste and invasive species of flora from the islands. This weekend’s cleanup would be the Spirit’s first initiative on the Anacostia since adopting the river in September.
