Mayor Bowser to Cut Ribbon on New Arboretum Community Center
(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, November 5 at 2 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser, District officers, and neighborhood members will lower the ribbon on the brand new Arboretum Group Middle in Ward 5. The historic recreation heart, previously a 1,400-square-foot discipline home and positioned adjoining to the Nationwide Arboretum, underwent a $10.8 million restoration and renovation and is now a contemporary, 8,000-square-foot, LEED-certified facility.
This challenge started in October 2015 and has been accomplished via the mixed efforts of neighborhood companions, the Division of Common Companies, and the Division of Parks and Recreation. The brand new facility consists of all new indoor and outside facilities, reminiscent of a health heart and assembly rooms for all neighborhood members to take pleasure in.
