A man wanted for murder in Washington D.C. has been arrested in LaPorte County.
Alberto Valle-Carranza, 54, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Dec. 20 after members of the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force received information that he boarded a bus in Chicago and was traveling to Michigan City.
Valle-Carranz was wanted in connection with a homicide that took place in the nation’s capitol on Dec. 19.
After receiving the tip, officers located the bus and held it until additional units with further information arrived and detained Valle-Carranza.
He was to the LaPorte County Jail where he remains and is being held without bond on a charge of second-degree murder while armed.
Valle-Carranza is going through an extradition process and will eventually be returned to Washington D.C.
