The German-owned grocery retailer chain has been rising rapidly within the D.C. space and all through the East Coast. Lidl consultant Chandler Spivey confirmed to FOX 5 that no retailer workers are impacted by the layoffs.

“Whereas we stay dedicated to the long-term success of Lidl US and sit up for persevering with our growth alongside the East Coast, we’re regularly evaluating our operations to make sure we’re supporting our shops successfully,” mentioned Spivey in an announcement. “We’re grateful for the contributions of our staff members, each these impacted and people remaining.”

Lidl opened its first D.C. grocery retailer in September, the primary new grocery retailer in Ward 7 in over a decade.
