It occurred on the 200 block of thirty seventh Place Southeast earlier than 3 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Armed with a weapon, a person — wished by police — holed up in an condominium after which apparently set it on fireplace, WTOP’s Kyle Cooper reported from the scene.
“By the point we engaged in a fireplace assault, there was fireplace within the first and second flooring and within the attic,” D.C. Hearth and EMS spokesman Vito Maggiolo mentioned, including that firefighters needed to wait an hour after they arrived to start out placing it out.
The person was taken into custody and was seen heading off the scene in an ambulance. D.C. Hearth and EMS mentioned his accidents aren’t life-threatening.
