DC hosts Pickleball club tournament

Pickleball officially taking over Washington D.C.

Shake Shack hosting its ten-city Pickleball Club series. The event centered around a full round-robin tournament, also has clinics for beginners, intermediate and advanced players.

The clinics hosted by Toss & Spin, “we have some great pros here to teach everybody you know the intermediate and the basics of pickleball before they hop into the tournament itself,” Megan Darner, Regional Marketing Manager for Shake Shack told 7News.

The tournament included six different divisions, men’s, women’s, doubles, mixed doubles, and others.

“We started Shake Shake pickleball club last year in Chicago and had an absolutely wonderful time bringing our community together and getting to do some fun stuff outside of the shack itself,” Darner explained.

The club donated 25% of all ticket sales from this event to Level The Playing Field DC, a non-profit organization working to provide affordable and accessible youth sports and community programs throughout the DMV.
