DC Firefighter Fatally Shot After Assaulting Girlfriend in Maryland: Sheriff
An off-duty Washington, D.C., firefighter assaulted his girlfriend Monday in Charles County earlier than a deadly confrontation with an armed man strolling a canine, authorities mentioned.
Charles County detectives say a neighbor shot 30-year-old Carl Braxton Monday on Sedgemore Place within the city of Bryans Highway.
Braxton, an eight-year veteran of DC Fireplace and EMS, had assaulted his girlfriend inside their dwelling in Bryans Highway, the Charles County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned in a press release.
She ran exterior and located a person strolling his canine within the neighborhood.
Braxton approached the person and threatened to harm him, in line with the sheriff’s workplace.
That man shot Braxton as he continued to stroll “aggressively” towards him, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.
The person who shot Braxton was taken to a police station and later launched. He didn’t beforehand know Braxton, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.
Detectives mentioned he has a allow to hold a firearm. Authorities haven’t launched his identify.
Braxton served at Engine Firm 22 in Shepherd Park. He joined the division as a part of Cadet Class 17 and graduated in April 2015.
