Virginia National Guard soldiers return home from Africa

SANDSTON, Va. (WWBT) – It was a reunion that would carry a tear to the attention as Virginia Nationwide Guard troopers returned house and reunited with family members.

The primary group of troopers assigned to Job Drive Crimson Dragon returned on Sept. 22 to Sandston after serving on lively responsibility since Nov. 2021.

“Greater than 1,000 Virginia and Kentucky Nationwide Guard troops below the command of the Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Fight Group performed safety operations all through the Horn of Africa and offered the East Africa Response Drive in assist of the U.S. authorities for disaster response all through East Africa,” a launch from the Virginia Nationwide Guard mentioned.

Extra troopers will return within the coming weeks after finishing administrative duties.
