Virginia Football: Nick Jackson Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

Virginia senior Nick Jackson has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week, as introduced by the Atlantic Coast Convention on Monday afternoon. 

Jackson tied a season-high with 14 tackles, 4 of them solo stops, in Virginia’s 14-12 loss to Miami in 4 overtimes on Saturday. He was additionally credited with 0.5 tackles for loss and a move defended to guide a smothering UVA defensive effort. The Cavaliers held the Hurricanes to only 272 yards of whole offense and compelled eight punts. Virginia didn’t surrender a single offensive landing for the second recreation in a row. 

Jackson, who led the ACC in tackles final season, at the moment leads the convention with 84 whole tackles and ranks ninth within the nation.

That is the fourth time a Cavalier has gained an ACC weekly award this season. Chico Bennett Jr. has been twice named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Brendan Farrell was the ACC Specialist of the Week in week 3.
