Va. Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears visits flood victims in Southwest Virginia

SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA, Ky. (WVVA/WYMT) – Extra leaders toured the aftermath of current extreme flooding in Southwest Virginia on Monday.

Lt. Governor Winsome Sears was the most recent state official to make the journey to Tazewell and Buchanan Counties.

She says the purpose is to listen to immediately from these impacted.

In an open dialogue with individuals who reside within the Bandy space of Tazewell County, Sears heard a few vary of points together with flood insurance coverage and FEMA funding together with fundamental day-to-day requirements.

“Hygiene provides, cleansing provides, someplace for garments. You realize, simply the fundamentals. Meals, water, a spot to sleep. And but we appear to be caught off-guard on a regular basis,” Lt. Gov. Sears mentioned.
