Target workers at a Virginia store withdraw union petition

NEW YORK (AP) — Staff at a Goal retailer in Christiansburg, Virginia, have withdrawn their request with federal union regulators for a union election.

Such an election would have joined a wave of union organizing throughout the nation at different retailers from Amazon to Starbucks. The petition was filed final week with the Nationwide Labor Relations Board by the unbiased Goal Staff Unite.

The group was based by Adam Ryan who has been working on the Goal Virginia retailer for 5 years.

Goal mentioned final week it’s dedicated to listening to its staff and cited beginning hourly wages of $15 to $24, expanded well being care advantages, customized scheduling and alternatives for profession progress. It mentioned it raised the beginning wage at its Christiansburg retailer final fall.
