One person dead after crash in Franklin County; Virginia State Police investigating
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Virginia State Police is investigating a deadly crash in Franklin County.
The crash happened Saturday evening on Mount Carmel Road, one tenth of a mile south of Gumtree Lane, according to police.
A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling north on Mount Carmel Road when it ran off the right side of the road.
The driver tried to overcorrect, crossing the roadway and hit the trees, according to police.
Poli9ce said Devin Wayne Coleman, 21, of Bassett was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
