Man sentenced in deadly fentanyl linked overdose of 14-year-old Virginia boy
WOODBRIDGE, Va. – A Woodbridge, Virginia man was sentenced to over 4 years in jail for promoting drugs to a 14-year-old boy who died of a fentanyl overdose, authorities say.
Officers say Latae’veion Woods, 21, bought counterfeit Percocet drugs that contained fentanyl to the teenager about 5 days earlier than he overdosed in April 2022.

Investigators say they searched textual content messages on the boy’s telephone after his dying that exposed Woods had beforehand bought him drugs. Additionally they say the 2 exchanged messages in regards to the teen presumably buying firearms from Woods.
Woods was taken into custody shortly after the teenager’s dying. Woods will spend 52 months in jail.
