Knights Lose Close to Squirrels in Doubleheader Series

STAUNTON, VA. — The Southern Virginia College baseball staff fell of their doubleheader collection Saturday afternoon, falling to Mary Baldwin 12-11 in recreation one, and 5-4 in recreation two. 


Sequence Notes

  • Kyle Thompson, Will Parker, and Nick Daynes led the best way for the staff in recreation one, recording three hits, with Parker and Daynes recording two RBIs
  • Pitching for the Knights, Nate McCallum recorded a team-high three strikeouts
  • The Knights used the sixth inning of the primary recreation to go on an 8-0 scoring run, led by Sinjun Johnson’s three-run homer
  • Within the ninth inning, Southern Virginia went up 11-9, however Mary Baldwin used a ultimate three-run walk-off house run to take the 12-11 victory
  • Within the first inning of the second recreation, Nick Daynes acquired the scoring going, hitting a single that superior Kyle Thompson house for the 1-0 lead
  • Mitchell Smith adopted with one other single, sending Will Parker house for the rating
  • Within the third inning, Jackson Massey hit a single, bringing Will Parker in for the rating
  • Luke Paulson closed out the scoring for the Knights, hitting a single and advancing Nick Daynes house for the run

Southern Virginia takes on the Apprentice College on the highway on Wednesday, April 20. Recreation time is scheduled for two pm.
